TRON to Airdrop 30 Million TRX to the Ethereum Community
TRON, the often-controversial blockchain project aiming to build a free, global digital content entertainment system with distributed storage technology, announced on Saturday in a medium blog post that the company will airdrop 30 million TRX (approximately $1.7 million dollars) to the Ethereum community.
Tron was originally developed as an ERC20 token on the Ethereum network but plans to launch a mainnet this June. The airdrop is being touted as a ‘thank you’ to all of those in the Ethereum community who supported Tron during this stage, but it also serves to introduce potential new users to TRX.
TRON stated that they discovered many “issues and bottlenecks” while on the Ethereum platform. They hope that by receiving TRX, Ethereum users will “have a chance to experience our high TPS development platform and use TRX to vote, becoming part of our new generation decentralized network and the TRON democracy.”
“Ethereum played a vital role in TRON’s early stage development, and we want to express our appreciation through this airdrop event. However, we have also discovered many issues and bottlenecks during our time on the Ethereum platform. When we see a problem — we will set out to solve it.”
To qualify for the airdrop, Ethereum users must have met these requirements:
- Any account on the public blockchain that transfers or receives ETH from Jan-01–2018 00:00:02 AM +UTC — April 20, 2018 00:00:04 +UTC (block 4832686 to block 5471198)
- Account has an ETH balance of over 1 on April 20, 2018 at 00:00:04 +UTC (block 5471198)
#TRON wouldn’t be where we are today without #Ethereum. But we want to solve issues when we see them. Stay tuned for a $TRX airdrop today! Use #TRX to experience our high TPS platform & join the #TRON democracy—#ETH offers neither. https://t.co/zvQjnzO7Zu

It’s important to note that the TRON team will handle all processes for this airdrop event. They do not require any action from Ethereum users and will not solicit users for tokens or addresses for ANY reason. Don’t be scammed. (more)
