According to the announcement, the sponsorship will bring the Litecoin logo to the canvas of the Octagon on December 29, which will be visible to the hundreds of thousands to millions of live and pay-per-view viewers.
“We view this sponsorship as the first step to what will hopefully be a long and fruitful relationship with UFC. We look forward to the possibility of doing some amazing things with this incredible organization,” the Litecoin Foundation added.
Litecoin isn’t the first cryptocurrency to enter the world of sports. Back in 2014, the Dogecoin community threw together $55,000 (over 60 million DOGE at that time) and sponsored NASCAR driver Josh Wise at Talladega.
LTC is currently down 3.5% to $30.06, bringing the 8th largest cryptocurrency to a $1.8 billion market cap.
