Google Restores the MetaMask App to the Google Play Store

The Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem seemingly took a hit last week when Google (GOOGL) removed the MetaMask mobile app from the Google Play store citing its policy against apps that mine crypto.

In a rapid reversal, MetaMask announced on Wednesday that the app is once again available on Google Play following “careful consideration” from Google.

With the reinstatement, the wallet app, which allows users to interact with decentralized applications, is now available on all major platforms, including as an add-on in Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Brave, and as a beta app for iOS and Android.

This news comes as Apple looks to be cracking down on dapps, with Coinbase recently removing the dapp browser functionality from the Coinbase Wallet app to “comply with App Store policy.”
