According to the announcement, Unkirn now supports live esports betting, where users can leverage the company’s platform token, UnikoinGold (UKG), and real money to bet on tournaments. This license covers most users in Europe, South America and Southeast Asia.
In addition to spectator betting, Unikrn now supports live skill-based betting, which allows you to place UKG bets on yourself in matches of League of Legends, Dota 2 and Fortnite.
Unikrn leverages a customized blockchain platform for wagering, called Unikrn Jet, which has been tested via UnikoinSilver, a simple reward token, over a number of months. Unikrn has also partnered with crypto exchange Bittrex to bring UKG purchases in-platform with credit and debit card support.
As a result of the Isle of Man license, UKG spiked nearly 90% before coming back down. The token is now up 23% in the last 24 hours to $0.0505 (a $7 million market cap), down from its peak price of $1.50 last January. UnikoinGold can be purchased on Bittrex, Upbit and KuCoin.
