Eric “adreN” Hoag Returns to Team Liquid to Coach Counter-Strike
According to the announcement, Team Liquid chose Hoag after searching for a coach with in-game experience who was already knowledgeable about their team and players. This made Hoag, who was formerly an AWPer, a prime candidate, despite this being his first attempt at coaching.
“I think this opportunity came at the perfect time for me. Lately, I’ve been wanting to take on a new challenge and while I never publicly announced that I was interested in coaching, it’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot. I’m excited to begin this chapter of my career and thankful to Liquid for the opportunity. I look forward to and can’t wait to help elevate Liquid further,” Hoag said.
Hoag has a notable rapport with Team Liquid’s CS players, having played with nitr0, NAF and EliGE in the past. He will start the new position in 2019.
This is yet another newsworthy move by Team Liquid, which recently announced that it has created a dedicated team for the Black Ops 4 battle royale mode, Blackout, despite uncertainty as to whether any official leagues will be launched.
