‘Destiny 2: Forsaken’ Release Date and Patch Details Have Been Announced

In a recent blog post, Bungie has detailed specifics regarding the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken and a custom raid called Last Wish.

The latest expansion arrives September 4 and follows server maintenance that begins at 7 AM PST. The initial patch will be released the same day, with maintenance scheduled to end around 10 AM PST. There is no word regarding how large the download will be, though, as it’s considered an expansion, it’s not expected to utilize a lot of space. Last Wish will be live on September 14 at 10 AM PST.

The Trails of the Nine event will enter a hiatus following this weekend, which may make it impossible for players to acquire certain trophies or achievements, including The Lest Ye Be Judged and the ability to meet the Emissary of the Nine.

The 2.0 patch releasing August 28 will cause servers to go offline from 9:45 AM PST to 2 PM PST.

The update is set to bring several changes, including increasing the Lost Sector difficulty and the ability to utilize shaders on swords. Xur will no longer be tied to the Flashpoint location, and players will lose the ability to find him on a map due to the fact that his icon will be removed entirely. It hasn’t been disclosed where he will be located following the update, but his vendor capabilities will remain and some of his inventory items will be changed.

In the meantime, Bungie has will be hosting a limited-time in-game demo for the new expansion’s Gambit and PvPvE mode September 1 for all players.
