Coinbase Wallet already supports ETH and ETC, and the 100,000+ ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, and the addition of BCH and LTC comes just weeks after it added Bitcoin (BTC) support. The exchange notes that the token addresses for existing Coinbase Wallet users should be conserved across the mobile app and wallet.
According to Coinbase, the update that will bring Litecoin support will roll out to all users on iOS and Android over the next few weeks, and the company is planning to support the Litecoin testnet for developers.
This comes just days after Coinbase announced that users of the Coinbase Wallet can now store encrypted private keys on personal cloud storage accounts, using either Google Drive or iCloud.
Through this system, private keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM encryption and accessible only by the Coinbase Wallet mobile app with a password. Of course, this has been publicly blasted as a highly insecure form of storage.
