Litecoin (LTC) creator Charlie Lee recently revealed that he will be aiding HTC in ensuring the company’s upcoming blockchain-powered phone contains a secure network that is simple enough for the general population to utilize. Lee will act as an advisor to the project following a meeting with the team last week.

The upcoming device, Exodus, stands as the world’s first native blockchain phone, but already has a line of competitors. Sirin Labs recently revealed its highly anticipated blockchain-powered phone, which promises a number of features similar to those planned for the Exodus.

As part of his involvement in development, Lee ensured that the upcoming device will support Litecoin and the Lightning Nightwork-powered transactions natively. Exodus will also come with built-in support for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

The Exodus aims to be one of the world’s first smartphones that can be utilized primarily for smart contracts, exploring the blockchain and handling DApps. A universal wallet paired with APIs that may be connected to other wallets and the promise that data that is preserved on the phone itself, rather than a centralized cloud, has also been guaranteed. Multiple protocols will be utilized at once with the intent of interoperability between blockchains.

While no official launch date has been announced, it’s projected that the phone will be released this Fall.
