Blockfolio’s New ‘Signal’ Feature Lets Crypto Projects Speak Directly to Investors
Last month, Blockfolio, the popular cryptocurrency portfolio monitoring app, raised a $3 million seed round and released ‘Signal,’ a new in-app feature that allows cryptocurrency projects to push messages to investors with important project-related news and updates.

In the official announcement, Blockfolio CEO Edward Moncada breaks down how Signal will improve communication and transparency between crypto projects and investors.
The mechanism is straightforward. Users who either own a coin in their portfolio or watch its price are automatically opted into seeing Signals from its leadership team in Blockfolio. No longer do users have to manually track down those teams’ various accounts across social platforms.
The new feature will enable Blockfolo’s 4 million users to receive frequent and timely updates directly from team leadership, with options to receive push notifications for the most urgent news.
At launch, a number of projects were using Signal as early adopters, including Dash (DASH), Civic (CVC), ICON (ICX), aelf (ELF), Decred (DCR), Kyber Network (KNC), and Quantstamp (QSP). Since then, more projects have signed on, including Monero (XMR), Decentraland (MANA), and Nano (NANO).
Blockfolio’s recent funding round was led by notable investors including Playground Ventures, L2 Ventures and DCM Ventures. The newly injected capital will support the company’s efforts to onboard 3,000+ cryptocurrency projects onto the Signal platform.
