Binance CEO Wants to Partner With Ripple to Use xRapid, Eventually

Binance¬†CEO¬†Changpeng “CZ” Zhao¬†jumped on Periscope yesterday to conduct his first live¬†Q&A, fielding questions from the crypto community.

While there was¬†significant focus on Binance’s¬†upcoming decentralized exchange, perhaps the most notable aspect of the Periscope Q&A was when CZ revealed that he is interested in a partnership with Ripple to use its cross-border payment platform, xRapid.

“We’re focused on launching more features right now, so we are working with a number of other partners. With xRapid, there’s nothing going on right now, but in the future, we’ll definitely want to add them as a partner.”

According to Ripple, xRapid is for payment providers and other financial institutions to minimize liquidity costs by lowering the capital requirements. xRapid uses XRP to offer on-demand liquidity with low-cost, real-time payments.

This news comes a month and a half after Binance first added XRP as a base currency on its exchange platform.
