Augmentors Becomes the First Blockchain Game Featured by Apple

Augmentors, a mobile blockchain-based augmented reality game that features creature battles, has become the first blockchain game to be featured in the Apple App Store.

Augmentors is built from the ground-up with blockchain technology and is powered by a cryptocurrency, called Databits (DTB). The fantasy game includes lore and heroes similar to that of League of Legends, where users work to build up their arsenal of characters while PvP battling. These battles leverage a card deck system that consists of four abilities centered around attacks or defense.

The App Store feature comes less than 3 months after Augmentors launched for iOS and Android devices.

Augmentors joins a number of games slowly making their way into the mainstream. Most recently, Arcade Distillery, a game developer that creates titles for PS Vita, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, revealed that it is gearing up to launch a new game for the PS4 built around the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain.

Plague Hunters is a single-player-focused, turn-based strategy RPG with some PvP elements and the sequel to the successful Plague Road.
